87. In the personal notes of Fr. Cumont, which he shortly before his death gave for our perusal, we find that the monuments of Sidon have been found: "dans une salle sans fenêtres entièrement murée (pour échapper à la déstruction)".

I.e. "in a chamber without windows, entirely walled-up (in order to escape destruction)."
