I’ve just come across this site which allows you to type in ASCII — A)\ etc — and converts what you type on the fly into unicode Greek. It’s fast, neat and effective.
And better yet — it’s all done in Javascript, which means if you save the .htm page locally, your local copy will work too!
Cool, thanks!
I agree — it’s a really useful resource and a great shortcut. There is another good, similar resource called Type Greek — http://www.typegreek.com/ ; see also http://www.ntgateway.com/greek-ntgateway/fonts/ . One of the advantages of Type Greek is that you can do the sublinear dot too — see http://ntweblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/type-greek-and-sublinear-dot.html
I use “AbcTajpu” add-on for Firefox. It allows almost anything with it in my Firefox. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/459
Typegreek looks very good too – thank you!
AbcTajpu I have not looked at, as I am not really a Firefoxer, but I appreciate the info. I must try it out!
Type Greek is better because it automatically puts the right kind of sigma at the end of words.
