Earning a living is consuming all my time at the moment, so blogging is slow. But a couple of things are going on.
Good news: I have started a new commission, this time for a translation of another Byzantine vita of St Nicholas of Myra. I have hopes that this will be out by Christmas. The translator has many calls on his time, however, so this may be slow.
I also need to chase up a commission for Eusebius of Caesarea’s Commentary on Luke. It’s basically done, but not polished off. I just haven’t had time to breathe to attend to it.
None of my own stuff is progressing, for lack of time. My current contract lasts until new year; if they don’t renew me – which of course I hope they will! – then I will be able to get back to interesting stuff then.
My planned trip to Rome last weekend was cancelled because of the illness of the person I was going with. The insurance company is absorbing some of my time, sadly.
I have another blog post on footnotes almost done, which will doubtless appear in a few days. I can’t get on with Eutychius until I have more time.
Thank you for your continued work, Roger. I am happy to see that the Commentary on Luke by Eusebius of Caesarea is still progressing.
