- Dionysius the Areopagite was translated from Greek to Syriac by Sergius of Resh'aina.

- 26 books of [Galen's] work were translated into Syriac as early as the sixth century AD by Sergius of Resh' Aina (Ra's al-Ain). Sergius was a Christian priest who studied medicine in Alexandria and worked in Mesopotamia, dying in Constantinople in about AD 532 [33].
