He was a younger contemporary of Barhebraeus. Among the latters poems are some by Khamis, addressed to Daniel bar Khattab, with Daniel's reply, and one by Barhebraeus. Khamis bar Qardahe (or Kardahe) was an East Syriac/Nestorian writer of the late 13th or early 14th century. He was a priest in Arbela. He wrote many poems, both religious and secular. Among these were a supplement to the poem by Barhebraeus "On Wisdom." His liturgical poems are transmitted in a Nestorian service book, even today entitled the "Khamis", especially his 'Onyatha.'
